Open Cloud

Our commitment to a European sovereign cloud

The future of the cloud is open.

In today's fast-evolving cloud landscape, no organization can navigate the challenges of interoperability, security, and scalability alone. The strength of the cloud ecosystem lies in its community-driven collaboration — where industry leaders, service providers, and end users unite to build, shape, and refine the technologies that define the future. TheEclipse Cloud Interest Group embodies this spirit of open innovation, fostering a space where organizations work together to drive autonomy, flexibility, and resilience in cloud services.

At the heart of this effort is a commitment to freedom of choice — ensuring seamless interoperability and enabling businesses to operate with the agility they need. By leveraging open technologies and specifications, we pave the way for cloud infrastructure that is scalable, adaptable, and independent of any single provider: cloud services that are easier to manage, more secure, and more resilient.

The Interest Group's efforts focus on identifying critical cloud components, fostering service portability, and ensuring quality and compliance standards while aligning with regulations like theData Act and supporting digital sovereignty. From emerging technologies like Xpanse, Biscuit, and Verifiable Credentials to ongoing research in multi-cloud interoperability and strategic autonomy, the mission is clear: a cloud ecosystem as open, adaptable, and future-proof as the businesses that rely on it.

To support this effort, Radixia is proudly an Eclipse Cloud Interest Group member — and we work closely with other members to push forward the shared know-how created by the Group.
